My Story
I was first introduced to Stampin’ Up! in 2009 when my best friend invited me to a party. The catalogue wasn’t as big as it is today but I was hooked on the high quality of the stamps and was blown away with how the card, ink, papers and embellishments all coloured co-ordinated. It did take me another six months for me to join after many discussions with my potential Up-line, making sure that it was for me, as in there was no pressure from the company or her to make targets etc, as I had already been there with another company. I loved how I was purchasing at discount and being able to get my hands on new products before the general public and more importantly I made new friends through crafting and the SU community. I attended my first gig event in Croydon and even met the former CEO and Co-Founder Shelli Gardner. (Roll on a couple of years Mainz, Germany) I met her daughter Sara Douglas who is now the CEO. Such fun! However, five years later due to my Dad’s Dementia I began to struggle and decided I needed time away so I left. Then a few months later I was invited to join my former team members for a sleepover and enjoy a meal and crafting to the early hours, it was just what I needed. Then there was talk of an upcoming event and I felt I was missing out and actually I needed to craft and enjoy it again, so I re-signed up and it was the best thing I could have done. With a new out look, I started a Cuppa n Card session, which I still continue with today and have met beautiful friends along the way. I love to see how newbie crafter blossom into experienced crafters. Then in 2020 everywhere went into lockdown and it was a lonely time for some, so I faced my fears and started doing Facebook Lives and Youtube Videos and I regularly participate in online events.
